RCIA and RCIC classes are held on Wednesday evenings.
Are you thinking of making the Catholic Church your spiritual home? RCIA is the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and is available for those who wish to become members of the Catholic Church. Your journey starts here with RCIA. If your an adult that has never been baptized, baptized at another Christian faith, or even a Catholic that hasn’t ever received the Sacraments of Initiation (Eucharist & Confirmation), you are in the right place.
September is not only the beginning of Fall, but also when RCIA classes start. The first 6-8 weeks is an introductory period where potential catechumen’s discover whether they wish to continue on this journey of faith and become in full communion with the Catholic Church.
RCIA helps men and woman understand and learn how to respond to the impulses of the Holy Spirit. It opens you up to a fellowship with Jesus Christ, and to develop an personal connection to our Lord.
The RCIA draws its model from the “catechumenate” of the early Church. During the early years of the Catholic Church it was a distinctive difference between the accustomed culture and what the new Christian culture was. When you became a new Christian you became a part of a brand new life and entered into a life-sharing state of faith. But at the same time a completely different way of living which required a strong commitment and great risks. Today, there is still a need for a strong commitment because of the differences in the beliefs of the present populace and the beliefs of our faith are under deep tension.
